Suzie Maeder was born in Switzerland. In
1969 she moved to London to study photography
winning First Prize at the Ilford College Award in 1970.
Since obtaining an MA Degree from the Royal
College of Art in 1973 she built her reputation
as a freelance photographer in the field of classical music. Her expertise led to lucrative contracts with major recording companies, international orchestras and acclaimed artists.
Her work appears in publications in the UK
and abroad and has been shown in over twenty exhibitions in
Europe, America, Australia and the Middle East.
In recognition of her artistic achievement
she was awarded the ‘Commendation Prize of the
City of Lucerne’ in 1982.
Being drawn to more abstract
interpretations, Suzie compiled a highly original collection of
pictures of musical instruments and scores which resulted in
exhibitions and the book ‘Seeing Music’
in 2001.
Keeping abreast of new digital technology
she is currently enjoying a burst of creative exploration
of colour whilst keeping her love of music and black and white photography alive.
All work on this website is for lease or
